Speed dating for small business
(March 15, 2017) – Small business leaders did not expect to find cupid during the 6th Annual Small Business Industry Day at the Tennessee Small Business Development Center today, but they did seem to love one-on-one attention using the speed-dating concept to forge greater relationships with federal agencies and large businesses. I can’t give them a contract, but I can position them and inform them and get them ready so they can bid and possibly get a contract. “I think it was quite successful.”Throughout the day, small business leaders networked with their peers, large businesses, and federal agencies such as the Small Business Administration, Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime, Tennessee Valley Authority, Veterans Affairs, various U. Army installations, National Aerospace Solutions at Arnold Air Force Base, NASA, America’s SBDC Tennessee, University of Tennessee Procurement Technical Assistance Center, and Center for Industrial Services.
The Corps of Engineers had representatives from the Nashville District, Mobile District, Louisville District, Huntington District, and Great Lakes and Ohio River Division.
Anyone thinking of hosting speed dating events definitely needs this 'how to' manual! It gives you some nice tools that you may already have if you're already in the planning stages for your own business.
But, if not, you can benefit from the information and tips.

The grammatical errors and misspellings in the book were annoying. This is a "no brianer" apporch to starting a speed dating service. It lacks all the industry standards you would expect on how to develop, run and promote a dating service. They have a section on finding venues that will tell you to find a local restraunt or bar and to make sure you can meet the owner, have enough seats and that it wont be to loud. This book only taps the surface on how to set up and run this type of service.
